Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of I.C.E.s
I shall fear no evil, as I have……Juice!
The Place: Rockingham Dragway
The Date: April 17 & 18
The Event : Redline Extreme Bikes
Why? Because it was there and we wanted
what the “Hard Core” Bikers thought of our quiet rockets.
Tammy and her ride!
We were surprised at how many people stopped
by to see them! We had questions from
spectators and even from some of the pro riders.
Compared to most of the field, we were slow, but still
had people coming up just to watch the battery
bikes make passes.
Tammy and I have been to
4 events so far but none just for motorcycles.
We wanted to go see how the “motorcycle battery”
rides would do on the ¼ mile since we had
really set them up for 1/8 mile racing.
(that is all we have for tracks locally).
As we expected, they ran well until about
the 1000 foot mark where the RPMs topped off.
We made several gear changes on my bike
as Tammy played with the new E-NOS system.
4 passes were done on Friday and 4 more on
Then we tried to get the 1/8 mile times close
so we could really race each other and see
who was the best rider off the tree.
We got both bikes into the 10 second (1/8 mile) range
at a tad over 60 MPH. Then we started having real fun.
The crowd got into watching us go at it.
One spectator came up to Tammy just before
our last run telling her
to make sure she beats me!!
Well she did. On a hole shot, she got the win by
only .016 of a second. Now that is drag racing!!!!
A great time was had by all.
